Title says it all, except of course that it should read HGVC!

I think it's open now. If not, sometime this month.

If so it is surprising that we have not had any stay reports - anyone been there?

I am curious also. I just can't see that the premium they charge for point usage is worth it... the units look the same as any other HGVC property in size/layout and appointments. That would leave location/view, but having seen this building twice during construction, it doesn't seem to have an advantage there either. It's not any closer to overlooking the beach than the Lagoon Tower. In fact it's farther from the water, and the narrow side of the building is the only one that faces the beach.

I dunno... maybe that's why it's showing so much availability online for next year! Plus even some units are showing up as last minute availability this month under "Open Season" rates. I'd think for a brand new building it would be booked solid.

Apparently, the apartments are more "luxurious", have concierge service, housekeeping every day (if using HGVC points), there's a lounge for the penthouses (I think these are on the top 2 floors...).

Still do not think this justify the number of points required. Mr GoodTimes are I are more than happy with the Kalia Tower or Lagoon Tower.

I was wrong; it doesn't open until Dec 20. Since it's a timeshare tower, it will have limited availability as hotel rental.

I agree. I'd rather have more nights for my points.

The penthouses are the top 5 floors.

From your description and the other comments it does seem as if the points premia they are charging for this property are way out of line - from 50% higher for even the most basic 1 Br, with many additional levels of "premium" above that where the rate for a 1 Br is up to an eye-popping 270% higher than in the Lagoon Tower!!
Would expect way more than slightly more comfy furniture or more frequent housekeeping to justify these extraordinary rates.

I wonder if this will make my week in the Lagoon tower more valuable (says he hopefully).

I am fine with no housekeeping when I'm staying at HGVC properties; in fact I'm so used to it that I actually prefer it! After just finishing my second year as a member (and getting more than my moneys worth out of stays!), I enjoy being left alone during my HGVC stays without housekeeping entering my room. And I think changing all those sheets and towels is a waste of energy and water. Occasionally I'll run a few towels through the wash myself if we run short (I love having laundry facilities available!).

As for a lounge... meh, I don't think I need that either if that's what all the points are for. I rather like the Kalia and Lagoon Towers, I think I'll stick to those! (I might however try the new GW if it comes available under Open Season... I think the cash rate is still a bargain).
