Got the email as well and went through and made the donation - $1 per month works, so a pretty good deal and good cause

In the fine print:

I added the fine print to the initial post.. and yeah it seems like we're too late to earn that extra 1000 point bonus because this started in Nov and ends in Oct 09.

My mistake. Looks like I skimmed over it a bit too fast. Wish Hilton would have sent the email out last week. :p

Under the terms and conditions on St. Jude's site, it says that the propmtion last through 12/09, not 10/09, so we should be eligible for the 1000 point bonus for 12 consecutive months of donating.

St Jude's is a good cause, and this promo is almost a no brainer, especially to those that may be in risk of losing points for lack of activity.

I responded, and am giving via a credit card for the next 12 months. The donation went through, and I got an e-mail receipt from St Jude, but there is no where in the donation application where I can put my HH number.

Sounds like a great deal for a good cause.

Anyone know how long it takes for HH points to post? Can't seem to find it in the T&C's. Also, is it possible to set up a CC for auto payment for 12 months exactly, no longer and no shorter?

I agree--good deal (even if relatively few points) for a very good cause.

Out of the blue I received an email solicitation for another medical charity today less than 24 hours after signing up for these contributions--a bit of an odd coincidence, in that for all of the unsolicited emails I get (most of which are spam filtered) this may be the first from an apparently legitimate medical charity. Hope and assume St. J's isn't sharing/selling the email addresses, and that this is just a coincidence.

I don't want my noting this to discourage other potential contributors, so unless you see some follow-up from me (or I suppose others) on this assume that it was just a coincidence.

I went back to the donation site, and still do not see any place to put my HH #. I got an e-mail from Hilton, with the site embedded, and that is where I went.

Any suggestions?

There is a place to enter your HH # on the first page you land on from the link. It is a Flash page so maybe you do not have Flash installed on your computer? I don't know what the cost is that St. Jude had to pay HHonors for the points, or what their costs are to process a donation, but I'd suggest that $1.00/month might be lower than their costs and might actually therefore be a net loss to the cause.

Anybody have an informed idea about what a monthly "break even" donation threshold might be in this regard?

I still miss those 10K HH points "Virtual" walks benefiting the (breast cancer?) foundation.... Oh the memories....

The cause is good but hardly worth doing for the points unless one has them expiring due to inactivity.

I went to install Adobe Flash on my laptop, but the pop-up warnings were so bad, I cancelled the installation. :( In my opinion, the points are not worth it. The only good thing is that St. Jude's will be getting some more $$$. :p

The email and link indicate that a single gift (as opposed to monthly gift) does NOT qualify for the HHonors 250 point bonus.

Just gave them $2.00 per month...$24/year is a good donation!

The website is stating on the links provided above that the promotion has been closed 31/12/2008 and no Hilton points will be given to people who start donating after that date.

That's a good question. Mine posted on the 15th as well. They must have posted the points for everyone on that date. It shows up as ST JUDE BONUS POINTS. I wish they put in what month the points are for.

Have had three credit card charges from St. Jude (Dec, Jan, and Feb) post to my credit card but have yet to see any 250 HH point postings to my account. For a followup on this situation should I contact HHonors or St. Jude. Do not mind giving to the charity but also feel that points should have showed up in my account by now. I don't get it - who grants points? Hilton or St. Jude? While I dont mind donating to St, Jude, I want to find out why they stopped the program without letting members know.

I am in the same situation as you. The statement closed on 04/26 and no statement points have shown up yet, or points for St. Judes. The statement points usually post within 2 days of the statement closing.

I hadn't recieved my 250 points for April either so I called about this situation this morning and was told that this St Jude promotion ended March 31, 2009. I told the CSR that I thought that it lasted 1 year and that I signed up in December.

On hold for 3-4 minutes....she comes back and tells me:

yes, you should have singed up in Nov/Dec 2008 and then the promotion ended March 31. Again, I told her I thought it was a year long promotion. I got no where with that CSR.

So, can anyone confirm? Did this promotion indeed end March 31,2009? And is it NOT a year long promotion for those of us who signed up in Nov/Dec 2008 timeframe?

Did you call St Judes or Hilton? The terms below are very specific as to the points earned through October 2009.
My CC was charged today for May and still no HH posting for April.

I called Hilton, not St Jude

I just got off the phone with a CSR at HHonors, who sent a manual adjustment for the points. She was unaware of the St Judes promo and could not find it,except that she could see it post earlier on my account.She is guessing St Judes is late in sending to HHonors.I'll post back if I hear anything else and if I see the points hit my account.

I thought that is why I got the points today, but it seems like they opened the gates and everyone all of a sudden got their missing points. Maybe they got enough calls.

I had the same thought.I contacted both Hilton and St Judes,both agreed to look into why the points did not post.

I am assuming the November posting is for October,as my CC was charged on 11/5 and the HH posting was prior to that on 11/3.

Update - After a call to Hilton, the missing points were credited within a week.
