I have a three hour layover in ATL...is that enough time for someone to pick me up, and go into the city for a bit?

Depends on the time of day. With traffic, no. With no traffic you could get in an hour for a meal or something. Really depends on what you want to do and where.

With just a 3 hr layover you will likely be pushing it to get into the city. Depending on your arrival gate, you will need at least 15 min. to get to curb side for someone to pick you up. You will also need to plan on 30 min. (at least) to re-check security.

Your best bet would have a friend meet you at the airport for a meal or a few dirnks. There a couple of good places to have a meal on the unsecure side.

The layover is between 9 AM and noon on a Saturday if it makes any difference

Where are you trying to go? What do you want to do? You could get picked up and ride into the city to look around for a few minutes but it's going to be a quick trip. Also, there is a lot of construction on the connector (75/85) through downtown on certain weekends and if you get caught in that, no way will you make it back in time.

Also, do you know your way around the ATL airport? Can you get in and out without wandering and get to a pickup spot easily? Will you be carrying luggage?

Another consideration--Sat mornings are a BEAR around spring breaks/other holidays. Way too many families going through security.

I second the suggestion of having the friend come down to the airport--3 hours just isn't enough time to go out, have a decent meal, and get back through security (even if you're elite and can get through the short lines)
