I am at 8 rentals for the year and about to book another. Can I make 2 rentals by booking back to back to get up to the 10 rentals for 5*. So I was thinking I would rent from location A return it next day to location B pickup a new car from B and return that to location C 5 days later. I know hotels don’t allow back to back in the same hotel for status but with hire cars it is more confusing. I don’t want to have the hassle of the extra return if I won’t achieve the 10 rentals.
Thanks

If you return the car and start a new rental, then they will both count

Yes anytime you close a rental...it counts towards your rental count ....especially helpful if you stay at a hotel close to airport :D

Thanks for the information. I have just checked the pricing and it is actually marginally cheaper to do the 2 rentals. I know from reading the various discussions on here that 5* isn't a great extar benefit but if it helps once then the extra effort is worth it.

2 rentals = 3400 BD miles instead of only 1700 for 1 rental :)

Even if they're back-to-back at the same location?

Yes, they just have to be separate reservations. You can even keep the same car if you are turning it in to a small HLE. They just come out, check for damage, fuel level and mileage and have you sign a new agreement. I did this a few times, taking advantage of the coupon for 600 bonus miles per rental. I'm not sure if it still works, but try adding PC 122065. Those extra bonuses added up quickly and I got two free rewards weeks for our personal usage out of it.
