I've been flying shorter routes this year and am about 15K short of making my 100K miles for CP. Has anyone heard of any promotions (e.g., "Everything Counts") that I could use to hit the bogey this year?

US is not as eager to retain elites as the other carriers. dingo Dec 3, 08, 5:55 am I believe if you sign up for a US credit card you get some bonus EQMs. I am surprised US did not or does not have a double EQM promo like UA. I am not aware of that practice. If you have / get a card and spend $25k in a calendar year you get 10k miles toward status...but not aware of any sign up bonuses which is what this sounds like you are saying. If it is, please post a link as I'd find it useful. tovaz Dec 4, 08, 9:07 pm Due to a quadruple bypass putting me on the shelf for 7 months this year, my 11 year run of being an elite has probably come to an end. I have been cleared for travel, but there's no way (timewise or economically) I could get in the 26 segments or 22K miles I would need to even get to Silver. I did check with the Dividend Miles folks about any sort of incentive that might be coming down the pike before the end of the year, but I was told the only way I could make Silver was (other than flying, of course) would be to purchase it for the munificent sum of $1,200. For that, I could find enough cheap MR flights to actually make it on my own and have some scratch left over. All that being said, I'm not optimistic on any EQM promos. |
