HAd enough of all the amex fees so am canceling my gold card and just keeping my satrwaood account.

i have about 48,000 points and need to transfer them out or lose them when i close the account.

i fly mostly Co and backup with DL. dl has the 30% bonus nowso it looks tempting. can i xin my points there and later redeem a co ticket with it??

what is the expiration policy by CO and DL that mey be a considerationj. thanks all

Yes, you can xfer to DL and redeem on CO. You will pay a partner fee to do so. DL and CO both have 18 month expiration policies, but CO actively does not enforce theirs while DL does. Also keep in mind that in late '09 CO will be moving to *A from SkyTeam and at that point redemption partners will change.

I wouldn't change to DL, if you can prevent it. Their redemption levels are terrible, and the availability is even worse.

If you fly with CO (and you can wait until they join Star Alliance), then convert your MR points to AC points and then book CO flights with Aeroplan. Lower redemption rates, too.
