Depends which date arew you travelling. GF seem to use their A320s and both types of A340s on this route

Just heard GF is about to aquire 3 777's from Jet Airways - wet lease. That's on top of the 3 ex MEA A332's due for delivery early 09.

Don't you mean "Just read a rumour on PPRuNe GF is about to acquire 3 777s".

PPRuNe is notoriously unreliable, especially when it comes to GF rumours. Not to say that this won't happen, but you should qualify your statements.

I have a booking on F with GF from KUL to BAH for the end of December. Originally on an A340-300, the reservation was today downgraded to C class on an A330-300! I did not know GF had any A333s?! Are these new or leased? Any info on the product on board will be much appreciated.

The rumour is they may also be aquiring A330's from other than MEA i.e Jet or elsewhere. The MEA A330's are 200's so thr A333 may be a new one comming from another carrier. GF's A330's are all 200's but are all 3 class. Ill see if I can do some fishing. I would ask GF res whats going on as per their website their A330's have F class - so whats the story and see what they say.

Thanks Cedar Jet. Will be very grateful for anything you can get on this. My TA tells me the seating configuration is now 5 rows of 2-2-2 in J, no F class, Amadeus showing it as an A333. KUL sector changing to this aircraft from this weekend, one of the 2 daily BKK flights also shown as A333. My TA asked GF in KUL where the a/c is coming from -they tell her it's been leased from Jet Airways - but then Jet doesn't have any A333s either!? Strange indeed. I wonder what type of seats it'll have.

Thanks guys for checking. GF in KUL also said the planes to be used on the KUL and certain BKK runs are A332 (not A333 originally shown) leased from Jet Airways. Based on the seat maps shown on Amadeus, they are the old-configured (non herringbone) aircraft with 30 J class seats configured 2-2-2.

It does seem the rumours re: Gulf Air getting 777s from Jet maybe true - see news on Business Traveller site at http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/gulf-air-to-use-jets-777-300ers.
