I am 1 of a party of 4 that will be in Barbados for New Years Eve.Am looking for ideas to ring in the New Year.
I have checked with The Crane and they have a dinner at BBS 395.00 / person that does NOT include alcohol.
Cafe Luna has a dinner for BBS 350.00.

I was hoping to spend a little less.I am footing the bill for all four,

Appreciate any and all suggestions,Thanks.:)

Have you been to Champers? You could have a great meal, then nip across the street to Bert's for a cleansing ale to catch the Calgary-Edmonton game.

I'll be in Barbados for NYE as well this year....Wife and I.
staying at the Hilton.

That Bert's sounds good...I am a huge Oilers fan.....What is the time difference between BGI and Edmonton? Is BGI EST? so 2 hour difference or 3 hours?

How is the meal at Champers? and how far away is it by taxi from the Hilton?

Would it be a problem finding a taxi to return back to the hotel after the NYE celebrations?

How is the meal at Champers? and how far away is it by taxi from the Hilton?I've been there twice and had fantastic meals on both visits. It's maybe 10 mins from the Hilton, essentially across the street from Bert's, or about 500m from the Accra Beach Hotel if you know where either one of them is located.
Would it be a problem finding a taxi to return back to the hotel after the NYE celebrations?Bert's can call you a cab, but there's also a taxi stand just south of the Accra Beach Hotel. Assuming you can drag a cabbie away from the pertual game of dominoes going on at the stand, you should be able to get a ride back to the Hilton.

Forget BERT's and watching the Calgary-Edmonton game on the 31st.
Bert's is closing near midnight....So you'll be only able to watch the first period.

I was quite disappointed with Bert's actually..Went there last night hoping to catch the Oilers/predators game.
They had the Leafs/Capitals game on the tv...I asked the manager who had the remote control and seems to be the only one that knows something about hockey if he can switch one of the tv to show the Oilers/predators. This was around 10pm local time so around 7pm edmonton time. The game had an earlier start at 6pm edmonton time.
That manager responded that the game doesn't start till 11pm local time. I was confused and checked my Blackberry for the nhl schedule and it showed a 6pm start time so 9pm Barbados time. I told the manager this and his response was 'I don't give a da8n what time you say it starts, i say its 11pm and i have the remote'....
I found that rather offensive. I ended up watching the SD/Denver football game and finished up my pint of Banks and left....Went over to Bubba's for more beer and football instead.....
