I'm one of many scrambling for other destinations and connections points due to the mess @ BKK. I leave next week for what was scheduled to be Siem Reap and Chaing Mai, all based through BKK.
Assuming at least Siem Reap is still included, I see good connections from Vietnam, and, obviously, Phnom Phen. Flights from the US tend to arrive at night, so I'd probably need to stay over until a morning connection. Not interested in sleeping on benches at the airport.
Do I need a full visa to do this in Saigon or Hanoi? Hopefully there's a way around it since no time left for any formal visa approval for any country, really. I'm using Star Alliance award travel, so who knows which location I'll be connecting through. I'm quite certain there's no *A routing to REP. Thanks!
