bmi diamond club - Reward flights LHR-South Africa-SYD

Hello folks. I'm new so have no idea whether I've posted on the right part of the site or whether there is some board etiquette I need to be aware of.

Anyway, I want to use my BMI points to fly on my honeymoon next october. The plan is to fly from London to South Africa (Cape Town or J'burg) and then from SA to Sydney - all business class if poss. All one way as we live in Aus.

I've checked the ANA site and there doesn't appear to be any bus class availability on flights between London and SA and no flights of any sort between SA and Sydney.:confused:

Have I missed something? Does anyone have a view on whether I'm likely to be able to use the points?

SAA only fly JNB-Perth and those awards seats are pretty non existent.

Have you tried from ZRH,FRA,MUC with LX,LH, or SA? There is also the option via LIS with TP or with MS via CAI.

For SA to SYD you could also try the JNB-SIN service of SQ.

Award flights between London and South Africa are in high demand and short supply, so you'll probably have to put in some more legwork on ANA and consider alternative routings.

If you havent done so, take a look at the timetable Star Alliance website to find routes between South Africa and SYD : certainly you can go via SIN, and ANA is brining up some good award seats too when I look at that route.

For SA to SYD you could also try the JNB-SIN service of SQ.Also TK via Istanbul, and I guess if flush with miles VS direct or QR via Doha (and use the posh terminal :D)...

For the Sydney flight you could also go via TG/Kuala Lumpar
