Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Does CX plan to have inflight Internet service ...?

Although, my monthly 15 hours of internet silence on the plane is always a welcome break from constantly being connected, I do wish that CX would have something in place for Internet connectivity.

I know they were gonna use Boeing's before but that fell thru.

Anybody know what's CX planning in the near future?

Have not heard anything, but I really hope so. AA has GOGO (http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do?p=/urls/gogo.jsp) service with Wi-Fi onboard from JFK/LAX and JFK/SFO (RT)

AA has GOGO (http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do?p=/urls/gogo.jsp) service with Wi-Fi onboard from JFK/LAX and JFK/SFO (RT)This is an exciting service with reports of good speeds and reasonable prices. However, part of why both are so is that this is cellular service, basically the same as a Verizon or Sprint data card for your laptop. Because it's cellular, it relies on cellular antennas on the ground (special ones aimed up at planes rather than at cell phones). Flying over an ocean requires satellite service, which tends to be slower and more expensive than cellular.

Boeing's was a satellite service (with very interesting technology to maintain IP connectivity).

Dont be silly, if they cant get in seat power towork after all this time and yet stil advertise it as a key feature of the new cabins. How on earth wil they get an internet connection to work.
