Hey all,

We will be going to Cancun for 6 days this Thanksgiving, staying at the Ritz and will have a minivan. We are planning on a relaxing time and are considering the following activities:
1 day diving (any sites you would recommend? We would consider the cenotes but have no cave experience)
1 day in Chichén Itzá, Ek Balam or Coba based on recommendations in the other thread.
Going into Playa del Carmen
Swimming with dolphins?

Any other activities or restaurants we should check out?

Thank you!

We liked the Chichén Itzá visit. We took a tour bus and got lucky with a great guide.

We also enjoyed Isla Mujures. It can be a half-day or full day trip. You can rent golf carts to get around. They have a water park plus other interesting things to see and do. The island is accessible via several ferries.

We did a dolphin swim at the aquarium a number of years ago. It didn't have all of the big bells and whistles but was affordable. It worked well for our small kids at the time.

Thanks Jeeves, we ended up doing the following:

1) took a van to Chichen Itza and a cenote, booked through hotel
2) went scuba diving in Cozumel through Aquaworld. It was a long day with all the transfers to get there, but a lot of fun. Great diving
3) took a boat to go deep sea fishing, caught barracuda and grouper, arranged through hotel
4) jet skiing off the beach

Overall, an awesome trip. Our hotel and places we went to outside the resort had outstanding service and we will plan on returning.

Also, we had 3 groups using USA transfers to get back and forth from our hotel and had a very good experience with them.
