I searched first, but the only threads I found were from 2006 (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=640735&highlight=spa) or earlier.
I'm a guy who is thinking about a mid-week Vegas trip between Dec 1 and Dec 20. I haven't picked a hotel yet. I've checked out the spa services pricing at several places, so I understand pretty much anything will be a few hundred bucks.
I'm looking for a private, quiet, relaxing experience. So I'd prefer a place that had private (individual) locker/shower rooms for guests. I'm already going to be nervous enough thinking about a strange woman rubbing on me. Seeing some other naked dude right before my massage is not going to help with the relaxing part.
Edit: A non-smoking spa is a MUST.
I don't want to go to some place and take a tour of their locker rooms either (same reason, really ). Can anyone here offer any advice?

Smoking in public buildings is illegal in Nevada with the exceptions of casinos, brothels, and stand-alone bars, so all the spas will be nonsmoking.
I've never seen individual locker rooms, although many of the spas have individual shower stalls.
If you can afford it, get a Salon suite at the Wynn, which has a private massage room. That way you will have complete privacy.

Since you are going midweek and during slow season (even more slower now) I would recommend the Four Seasons spa. It's smaller than other spas and thus a little more intimate. You won't have your own locker or individual room but I've never seen it very busy and have really only come across two or three other individuals at the same time. If you decide to go with Four Seasons, when you book your sessions, just make sure it is done at the Four Seasons as a few treatments are performed at the Mandalay Bay spa which you do not want to go as it is quite crowded there.
Alternatively, have an in-room massage, usually costs only a little more. The therapist brings a table to your room.

QuietLion - Thanks for the NS info. But $700/night is a wee bit out of my price range. I apologize for not mentioning a price range in my post.
kingalien - Thanks for the Four Seasons suggestion. And I can't believe I completely forgot about the in-room massage. The FS may be a little more than I want to spend (even with their 3rd night free promo), but I'll go look at that some more.
How do you know which treatments are at the FS and which are at MB?

Usually receptionist will inform you if the treatment will be done at MB, but ask when making appointment to confirm that it will be performed at the FS. Enjoy.
Edit: BTW, Canyon Ranch Spa at the Venetian/Palazzo has a 50 or 80 minute in-suite massage and rates at Venetian/Palazzo are quite good right now especially during midweek.

No feedback on the spa in there, but lots of opinions on both places.
Thanks again!

Most 4* Strip hotels have a spa at which one can book a massage. Last time I think it was $90 plus tip for a 50 minute deep tissue massage, other types of massages are available. The price of the massage or other spa service includes admission to the spa, which includes: A lounge area with newspapers, television, lockers, and free water, fruit, and fruit juice; showers; a robe and slippers; a large jacuzzi; and the use of exercise equipment. The Wynn spa offers the Deluge: you sit down, pull on a rope, and 50 gallons of jacuzzi-hot water comes down on your head, all at once. I would rather do the Deluge and adjacent jacuzzi after my massage, something you won't get in your suite.
The Venetian's Canyon Ranch Spa is much the same, minus the Deluge, but plus the Spa Cafe, which offers delicious healthy breakfasts and lunches.

I think that it is hard to beet the Wynn's Spa. I have been there a few times. With any spa treatment you get access to their Gym, day spa and of course the treatment you paid for. Their day spa is fantastic. Very relaxing. You can sit around there for a couple of hours just watching sports or news on their TV's in a bathrobe drinking tea or coffee or juice. There is fruit available as well. Their locker room is NOT private, however, I have noticed that some guys change in the bathrooms there and then just bring their stuff to their assigned locker. You get a bathrobe and shower shoes when you check in. The Shower stalls ARE private with doors and a large open area making them feel very private. The showers are all stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body scrub and the sink area is stocked with everything from double bladed single use razors, shaving cream, cu-tips, hair gel etc. The day spa which you have access to all day is nice with a Jacuzzi, ice plunges and two water deluges. Most people sit around in there in there bathrobes, but use the water items without clothes. I have on occasion seen a swimsuit or two. The gym at the Wynn is good for BASIC workouts. You can do everything you need without a lot of overlap. Lots of cardio stuff, less free weights. A Smith's rack is actually the only real free weight aside from dumb bells. You can get pull-ups in on the Cable Crossover. There are lots of hammer strength type machines for a full range of possibilities. They also have a stretching station and personal trainer available. The cardio stuff ALL have TV's on them with headphones provided at the counter. The gym is coed. I use the gym when I stay there, there is a $20 single day fee if you are not getting a spa treatment. If you are going to the gym expecting Gold's, you are looking in the wrong place. If you want to work out some of the stuff you ingested the night before, it is perfectly adequate. If you are getting a treatment the gym is included in the price. The day fee includes use of everything else mentioned, obviously with no spa treatment. Oh and I should mention that a Salon treatment is treated the same as a spa treatment. Pay for a hot shave, you get access to all of the above. Just tell them what you want at the check in desk on the Spa level.
Download the Spa treatment price list so that there are no surprises. It is not "cheap/inexpensive" but all of the treatments are first rate.

I should also mention that I'm a big fat lazy slob, and I'm not going to Vegas to work out :P (But I'm sure those that are will definitely appreciate your great details above)
