bmi diamond club - Is it worth upgrading with a GUV LHR-GLA ?

Hi

Travelling to Glasgow on Tuesday BD2 and returning on the BD9. I have GUV's and is it worth using them on these flights given BMI's limited shorthaul C class service.

Is there a way of checking if the aircraft will be midhaul C?

Dan

Just done a quick check for you and BD2 and BD9 on tuesday are both being operated by A319. They are not mid haul aircraft.

If you feel like a hot breakfast (and since the toastie seems to hardly make an appearance anymore, at least IMHE), using a GUV can definitely be worth it especially if you have not had a chance to make it to the *Gold lounge. :)

Thanks for your help - will probably use them as I seem to have quite a few given they are so hard to redeem!

Thermonuclear was definately on the menu on EDI-LHR on Monday but I went for the Breakfast panini.

I'd rather have a Panini that the C breakfast TBH. I'd probably also rather have a freebie sandwich than the hot muck BD serve up as well.

LH C food is fantastic on shorthaul/domestic as I have experienced and documented on here in the past. Hopefully LH will enhance our food to their standards.

Sadly my last couple of LHR-GLA trips have not featured anything hot down the back except for liquid refreshments. :(

GUVs therefore have been useful.

One has to wonder whether LH will allow us to keep our GUVs when we go M&M? Also I wonder whether they will allow them to be used across all M&M services (wishful thinking I know).

Agree about the food itself. I would most like to see a C class featuring LH food served with BD drink by BD crew.

I only drink beer and LH beer is better than BD beer. BD Crew and LH crew are very similar. I was doing LH FRA-EDI in C a few months back and the crew were exceptional, no hiding behind the curtain and a continual drinks service.

On my last BD C flight the other week from LHR to EDI the crew in C were exactly the same. When I left the plane I was referred to by my first name which was nice. The last flight back is always a good thing as you are get the Scottish crew who are ace. Had a flight from MAN-LHR a while back as well when it was the scottish crew and had a good chat with them one of the crew remembered me from months back. Similar on by regular jaunts on the EDI-MAN run when I always had a good chat with the crew. Very friendly, didn't seem to be put on.

If BD and LH can combine the undoubted greatness they both have it could be a great partnership.

No staff changes required just product enhancement.
