I am considering the RJ flight from BKK to HKG. Any ideas on the service on this flight? Is spending the extra for business class worth it on this 3 hour flight? Seems an extra $125/ow gets you to the front of the plane.

If you use the search function you will see quite a lot of detail about RJ in general, and also about the BKK-HKG leg.

However - just as a brief recap - the general opinion is that RJ is very good to excellent. The aircraft used on this sector is a newly refurbished A310 with lie flat seats in Biz class (same seats as AA international business class).

I did the flight several times and the cabin was always spotless, the food (served on a tray due to short flight time) being fresh and very tasty - with a choice of 4 main courses.

Alcohol including champagne (Moet) is available. Cabin crew were always excellent.

RJ will give you a lounge invitation to the Thai Airways lounge, but you are able to use the BA/QF lounge based on your class of service. I found the BA/QF lounge much better.

The flights were always on time and only really take about 2hrs 20.

I would take this option everytime! Pay the extra and enjoy (especially good value if you belong to a oneworld FF programme as you can get good points and status credits).
