Wondering if anyone could give any insight if there are typically great post-Christmas shopping bargains to be had in Las Vegas? The Canadian equivalent to Black Friday is Boxing Day (Dec 26) but it's looking like we might be in Vegas for the holidays instead of Vancouver.
TIA.

Many national store chains have their Black Friday ads leaked so peruse and plot out where you need to go :).

I think kingalien is referring to day-after-Thanksgiving sales while Jay71 is asking about day-after-Christmas sales. Fortunately, the answer to both is quite similar. There are deals to be had on both days at virtually every retailer. For those inclined to do such mob-shopping, I think the deals will be better than usual on both days - in anticipation of a poor sales for the season and again after fruitation of such.

Well, the shopping on the strip itself is mostly upscale and not really the place to look for "bargains." Malls and discount stores should offer bargains similar to what you could find by just driving to Bellingham.
Yep, for us, the shops on the Strip are more for window shopping or maybe some trinkets. We've got a car booked and we're likely going to hit the Outlet Mall(s), which we always do anyways. Just trying to determine if it's worth the effort to head out to Costco, Walmart, Bestbuy, Fry's, etc.

That's correct, my error. Sorry. :)

Fry's has traditionally run some nice day-after-Christmas sales, but most of last year's best bargains were loaded with MIRs IIRC. And it's always a zoo on those big days........
Was talking about shopping today and kind of reminded me of our time in Vegas and this thread. Thought I'd post a follow up on how we found the shopping to be like.
In short, we thought the shopping during post-Christmas was pretty good.
We were first in Vegas from Christmas to a few days before New Years. Did the bulk of our shopping at both Premium Outlet shopping malls (north and south strip) and Fry's. Some stores had some really good sales that I typically don't see at those stores. Tommy Hilfiger Outlet had the entire store at 50% off the lowest ticketed price for the week and also had a coupon for an extra 15-20% off depending on how much you spent. Kenneth Cole had most of their store at 50% off the lowest ticketed price but didn't allow supplemental coupons. Fry's had some really good bargains but you kind of had to know your pricing and compare carefully (eg. We picked up a 4 handset cordless phone at a great price but there were others with fewer handsets & features being promoted on the end caps). The wife picked up a number of items (purse, shoes, etc) too at various stores.
Not every store had amazing sales but there were enough that we thought the shopping was very good.
We went back to Vegas a few weeks later in late January during the week of the presidential inauguration and checked out the same stores/malls because we had a different friend come with us. The sales (as expected) were not as good. Also as expected, a lot of the items we thought were good bargains or stuff we wanted to go back to get another of were gone.
