The article flips back to an article saying that ATT has exclusive to at least 2010 and possibly 2012. It suggests that Apple was advertising for CDMA engineers, but we've seen nothing in patent office leaks. It is one thing for Apple to allow two GSM carriers in a country to sell the iPhone, you still need the hardware to get the CDMA unit out the door. Verizon is also offering too many iPhone clones for someone planning on releasing something in January 2009.

Why would Verizon want the iPhone when they're hyping the Blackberry Storm?

I really don't see it happening. It wouldn't be too hard to make it happen, but I also don't think Verizon is "open" enough for a company like Apple.

I kind of doubt it.
But who knows, there might be some sales clause in the contract between Apple and AT&T. I know there is an exclusivity clause for the Storm, with the "out" saying if VZW doesn't sell X amount in X amount of time, the exclusivity is lifted.
And yes, I'll be buying a Storm a week from today (once I get back from Europe).

I really having a hard time believing ATT isn't selling enough iPhones. Since they reduced the price, the sales have been through the roof.
