Travel Technology - 1 month in Ireland (next month!)... which prepaid 3G broadband SIM for ~2Gb use?

Greetings TTers..
Vodafone AU sales reps at the shop say the global roaming option is the only option and is going to be ridiculously expensive (and suggested a local prepaid 3G account).
When at home (old house rather than a hotel) I'll not have anyone's account to use, so was hoping:
a) my huawei modem isn't locked to Voda AU and
b) there is a reasonable option in terms of an equivalent SIM (but prepaid for a specified limit of usage).
What are the best sources - online? Forums? Just from a shop when there?
Thanks a million!
;)

Thanks, antichef. ^
Hopefully it is possible to just buy a sim and then charge it for 1 month, as 3 offers for owners of the 'stick' they are now selling.
Voda IE only has the 12mth contract on the website; is a prepaid option offered? The 3 offer seems fair and great (10Gb... will not go near that much) so it would be good if I can do this with this huawei modem. ^
I'm really hoping to get to Belfast this time, too.

3Ireland have their own network covering the main urban areas, but look carefully at their coverage map if you are outside these. They have an arrangement to provide voice calls with Vodafone in other areas, but not 3G services.
you could pose the question on
www.boards.ie broadband forum (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=259)

But 3 like home lets you use the SIM in Northern Ireland at no additional charge.

Hi,
As well as 3 (www.three.ie), have a look at Meteor. This might be better for "ad-hoc" browsing - SIM card is free (PM me if you want to get one). http://www.meteor.ie/mobileinternet/payg_pricing/
If you're passing through Dublin, think of catching up with some of the other FT regulars, most of whom are over on the bmi board. (There might be some on the BA board - I've never looked).
Aidan
aidanc and anyone interested,
I'm connected to Meteor and it seems to work fine.
Free SIM (is this the only provider doing free SIMs?) and if you 'top up' with EUR$20, you get free SMS in Ireland - nice to have! www.meteor.ie
It's only GPRS/Edge but does the job for light use at home, for now.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Looking forward to our BMI drinks in Dublin Thursday week. :)
