View Full Version : Pajama question?

I am going from EWR-SIN all business class flight on SQ in a few weeks. I have in the past taken First and Business on SQ from the US (direct, not non-stop) and were only given pajamas in First. Given that this is an "all business class" flight, do they distribute pajamas for such a long non-stop flight?

Nope. :( Pajamas are for First class only. No amenity kits either.

I have not been on this flight as yet but logic says that for an 18hr all J Class flight atleast the PJs should be given. Ok you have all the stuff in the lav's but not the PJs so the PJs should be given.

Try asking for one from the FA out of curosity even if not offered one and do post the outcome for all of us. Max the FA will refuse politely. So no harm.

Cheers

I intend to ask!!!! I will dress in jogging pants just in case!

I would think someone on this forum must have taken this flight just once. I know that regular J class does not provide the PJ's and amenity kits. However, since they advertise this as an "all business class" flight with no option to upgrade to first, I thought there would be some basic amenities included on this very long flight from First class.

Thanks

Unless you are able to call in advance and pre-book your pajamas, the FAs cannot provide you with something they don't have. :p I have been on SIN-EWR-SIN a few times and there was never any pajamas. The service is the same as other flights with 77W seats.

Right. The a/c will simply not have pjs other than any that pax bring on themselves.

Kiwi Flyer is right. They don't give you PJs even if you hold a F Class ticket flying Biz Class or try to arrange it earlier. But you should still try.

Are PJ's something I can request, using a C award?

When he says "you should still try", I don't think he's saying that you have any real chance whatsoever - rather, it's in the same sense as "you should still try" to see whether a random man walking on the street wants to give you $100 for no reason. In other words, it's just not gonna happen.

Pre-reserving PJs in J... :D

Okay totally OT but do the PJ's come in "American" :D sizes? I'm 6' 260#, just curious. I don't want to go on a crash diest to fit into clothes that are not meant for my frame. :p

I have always been offered a medium, so I assume there is a large and a small. The medium is too small for me, and I have asked for a large, but told they only have small ... you work it out:D regards bkkrop

Their sizes run really large. They have XL that would fit you fine. If they are out of XL, try a L as it also runs really large and you probably would fit.

Have you guys jost your minds? Buying your own cheap PJ's would cost a few dollars. Do you really believe that paying so much more for an SQ F/CJ class is worth the difference? Even with a designer logo on the front? I had these so many times in F and always left them behind after de-boarding. What is so special about SQ PJ's, often with disgusting mustard colours and non-fitting sizes, even in F Class?

You can always bring your own from previous flights, if you saved them. That's what I did on SQ 37/38 from/to LAX in August. Other pax did it as well. Not uncommon.

PJ's come in very American sizes. I'm 6'0" and 170 lbs. The Medium size is baggy on me. The Large would be great swathes of fabric. The FA's in First routinely offer me Large or Extra-Large, and I have to request Small-- that's what fits. I frankly don't know how small-framed Asians like Mr. Megatop get SQ PJ's that fit.

Now, now: the new ones are a very dark chocolate color; much better than the mustard.

I'm with MegatopLover: keep 'em once in a while, and take 'em along when you know you'll be on a non-pj flight. I've even worn them in UA F, since UA is too cheap to provide pjs (well, they were; mebbe they're going to change the policy).

Plenty of size variety, too -- I'm 6' and never need more than medium.

Maybe we need to campaign for "book the PJs" :D

Are PJs given out in F on daytime flights?

If they are long enough

As Kiwi says -- depends. You won't get pjs SIN-ICN on
SQ 16; only after departing ICN for SFO; I think it's the same for SQ 12 SIN - NRT: only after NRT enroute LAX.

But westward on SQ 15, you get 'em after departing SFO; likewise SQ 11 LAX - NRT.

I agree. Even though the new ones are dark in colour they neither look that nice or feel that nice. I would just spend $40 on a nice pair at the airport. Either that or fly LX F instead *their pajamas are heavenly and look nice too)

I'm flying SIN-LHR in F in March; should I get them then? My flight leaves around midday I think.

SIN-LHR is a long enough flight to get pjs even on daytime flights.

That's SQ318 departing around 1255pm. It's A380. So you are in the Suite. PJs will be distributed as well as a different style of amenity kits bag than the regular F on 744 or 77W.
