Hi everyone:
This forum has always been very helpful so I decided to post again.
I am a diamond member with not enough miles to redeem for my uncle and aunt (third parties). I am however, a family mileage member and head of the family with OZ Bonus Club. Can I top off the short 12,000 miles from another family member to redeem the award tickets for my uncle and aunt? Or would I be better off redeeming on *A for an SQ award ticket since I also have enough miles in my Krisflyer account for one award ticket? Thanks in advance for all your help. Open sesame.

IIRC, family mileage pool is only available for awards for family members NOT for 3rd party.

From the membership guide:

Do you want to transfer your award ticket to family or friends?
To make easier use of miles, Asiana Club members can transfer
award tickets to certain family members as listed below. To do
so, proof of family relationship (issued within past 6 months) and
award transfer certificate. Members of Platinum, Diamond Plus
(new), and Diamond can give his or her mileages to anyone with
an award transfer certificate. However, from 1 October 20008,
people who get the mileage transfer should be a member of
Asiana Club.

Family Mileage Plan
If you do not have enough mileage on your individual account to
earn bonus award, you can redeem bonus award by adding your
direct family’s mileage plan. To be eligible you must register as
a family member. Family members eligible to register are limited
to representative family member’s spouse and direct family
(children, parents, grandparents, grandchildren) and can register
up to a maximum number of 5 person individuals including
the representative family member. Upon registration you must
submit the application form and all documents verifying family
relationship (document stating family relationship, identification
copy or family registration and documents within 6 months
of issuance). Once registered as a family member changes
or double registration are not allowed. However, in case of
separation due to marriage a one time change is allowed. Family
mileage among registered family members is limited to the
missing amount of miles when issuing bonus award.
So the way I read this it is "yes" to all of your questions. So need to touch your SQ account if you don't want to. But why have two accounts? Maybe you should empty the SQ account and just have the OZ one?
