Has anyone used one of these two sim card providers? How does it work? I don't understand about choosing local numbers. Is it a good deal? How does it work for the caller?

Thanks,
TG

Yes. I have both of them. I got yackie via a free offer they had a while back. Both of them use callback. You choose a free number from USA/UK/France and a few other countries. You can add an additional number from several other countries though.

In my experience from using them in the Caribbean, Europe and Nigeria, they work as advertised. Especially maxroam. Yackie sometimes I did not get the call back at all. I have US numbers, so I just forward my AT&T number to the yackie or maxroam sim, so I can continue to receive my calls whereever I am. Yackie charges $0.29 for incoming calls, while maxroam's rates varies from one country to the next. You can check their respective sites for details.
