I have an extended use lithium-ion battery for my Sony Vaio laptop. I don't use it very often, but I wanted to take it on my flight from SFO to PEK on Tuesday so I could watch some movies on my laptop. I swapped it in last night and the computer indicated, "0% - charging." This morning, it was reporting exactly the same.
I was under the impression that LiON batteries don't die like this. They have a limited number of charge cycles, but I'm not anywhere near that. Worse, this is a $300 battery.
Any idea what's going on and, better still, if there's a way to kick start it?
