Etihad has won an Airline of the Year award, in addition to doing well in the SkyTrax awards, Freddies and others.

Congrats!

Etihad Airways has been voted ‘Airline of the Year’ at this year’s British Travel Awards (http://www.britishtravelawards.com/award_OTY.php#6)

Etihad beat Virgin Atlantic to this award.

A little background: [Awards were held November 6]
The UK’s travelling consumers and agents and professionals from the travel industry voted in their tens of thousands to let us know who they thought deserved a British Travel Award for excellence in the travel business across more than sixty categories spanning all sorts of holiday experiences, including transport, destination, cruise, customer service, holiday extras and accommodation.

Voters were also asked to complete an attitudinal survey to give us more information about what the travelling public expect from their holidays, how they are budgeting and planning for holidays going forward, the preferred methods of booking, their favourite types of holidays – and of course information on what they DON’T like.

I have had good experiences and they are increasing capacity like you wouldn't believe, to Australia.

Why wouldn't I like them?

:D

(I know that despite the awards, the expansion here and the generally excellent in the air service, it will not make much impact on FT as it isn't connected to an alliance. Besides, there's not much happening in this forum most of the time :))

I flew EY to Brisbane return from DXB last year and had excellent service. PLUS their fare was a lot less expensive than Emirates.

In Jan I fly to PEK and from DME - once again because of their prices, AND their service....

Now if they could fly into PER ;-)
