Did you ever drive from COS up to Cripple Creek just to see what legalized gambling was like in CO, only to find that $5 blackjack -- maximum -- was the only game in town? Tuesday CO voters passed a ballot initiative that would let gaming towns there offer higher wagers, new games, and 24H gaming instead of the current 2 A.M. curfew.

The measure allows residents of Black Hawk, Cripple Creek and Central City to vote whether to increase single-bet limits to as high as $100 from the current $5 limit. Community colleges would receive 78 percent of new revenues to spend on financial aid and classroom instruction.
"We are very thankful to the voters of Colorado for recognizing how important the community college system is," said Nancy McCallin, president of the Colorado Community College System.
At $100, Colorado's betting limit would still be tied for the lowest in the nation.
