We go to Sydney every year and keep trying to go to Warratah Park but their website keeps on saying its closed to the public.

Is it ever going to reopen? Is there a way of visiting?

Also are there any tours to see the Manly penguins?

We're disappointed about the jetcat to Manly. We have a time share there and sometimes it was nice to be able to take the quick trip although we love the ferry. Are there going to be additional ferry services?

It's a shame you can't visit Skipp's home but you can visit some amazing spots in Kuringai National Park.

Amongst these, I highly recommend you pack a picnic for West Head.
Cottage Point is worth a visit (and lunch if you'd like a very special restaurant lunch).
The D'Albora Marina might be worth a visit if you like boats.

The whole area is a motorbiker's paradise. Highly recommended if you like two wheels. ^

I've not heard of any re-opening plans for Waratah Park other than what you see on their website. Judging by the condition of the place last time I was there, remediation might take a while.

The Manly Little Penguin population is very small and the location of their roosts is closely guarded, although a relatively open secret, amongst locals. You can read more about them here (http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/plantsanimals/LittlePenguinsSydneyHarbour.htm). If you have an opportunity to go for a sail on the harbour you will often see and hear them anywhere from Fort Denison all the way to the heads.

The Jetcat is still running but the state government is in serious financial strife and there are reports that the service will be cut in the mini-budget scheduled for November. We'll know then if there are additional ferry services to be added although I think that would be tough since all Manly Ferries are already fully utilised.
