Peru - hotel in cuscoView Full Version : hotel in cusco arubalad Nov 4, 08, 6:07 pm Any info on hotels? I will be there for 3 days arriving by train from Lima Siempre Viajando Nov 5, 08, 6:43 am Try the Sofitel, a couple of blocks of the Plaza de Armas. Highly recommended. D1andonlyDman Nov 6, 08, 11:11 pm In Cusco, you can stay in a good, quite pleasant guest Hostal for $15-25 a night, or you can stay in a deluxe 5* international standard luxury hotel, for $250-400 a night, as well as the entire range in between. You might help us by giving us some idea what you are seeking. If it's the former, I can heartily recommend the Hostal Marani, up the hill about 4 blocks from the Plaza de Armas, in San Blas. arubalad Nov 10, 08, 2:52 pm looking for an upscale hotel 5 0r 4 stars rje Nov 10, 08, 3:17 pm Recently stayed at Casa Andina Private Collection and was quite pleased with both rooms and location. Food and dining ambience were also very good. LouiseMc Nov 10, 08, 4:23 pm Last year I stayed at the Monasterio Hotel/Orient Express. It was originally a seminary and is now a beautiful hotel. It is also a very short walk (2 blocks) to the main square. On the expensive side but well worth it. jaymar01 Nov 17, 08, 6:12 pm I shared a cab in Cuzco with a couple who had an wonderful apartment for rent. I spent about $10/night for a room Living room, bedroom and full kitchen. Located about 1 km (15 minute walk) from the Main Square. And very well located near the main square. A friend stayed there recently and was equally impressed- also mentioned that they had installed "oxygen enhancement" systems in most rooms- which is a huge advantage at that altitude (I wish they had that when i was there- I was sooo sick from the altitude). Stayed at the Sofitel ( which was about half the price of El Monasterio) in February 2008. Found it a very nice hotel about the same distance from the square and they too had the oxygen systems. However the " coca tea" we were offered on arrival was all we needed.;) mike jan_az Nov 20, 08, 8:15 pm Stayed at the Sofitel ( which was about half the price of El Monasterio) in February 2008. MileageAddict Nov 22, 08, 9:01 pm This website look ugly but has the best information about Cusco hotels out there: http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/hotels/cusco/index.html globetrots Nov 29, 08, 2:37 pm I reviewed the top hotels there a while back for a trade pub and am about to do it again. For future reference, you could argue a little about this list, but they roughly fall in this order: Monasterio Inkaterra (small boutique) Libertador (large with more services) Casa Andina Private Collection Novotel |
