Hi, I am about to fly on an Asiana flight and don't want to get their miles since I am not ever going to get enough to redeem them for anything. Can I use a partner airline reward program to get their miles instead and then transfer them to either American Airlines or Continental? Also interested in transferingn to HiltonHonors or Marriott. Many THANKS!

Try Aeroplan and see if they participate in any kind of points transfer program...? Asiana's frankly the easiest program to earn status if you're interested in that kind of thing and fly Star Alliance carriers pretty consistently (20k in 2 years for Asiana Gold/Star Silver, 40k in 2 years for Asiana Diamond/Star Gold)

You could credit them to any other *A program..... but that doesn't sound like one of your preferred options....:(

Welcome to the OZ forum, mickey_mouse!

Any chance to book on a code share which might earn you miles? Or are you booked on OZ?

CO will be moving to Star Alliance in the future anyway so depending on when your flight is you might be able to earn CO miles anyway. If your flight is before, just get those miles using any Star Alliance program and you can redeem (not transfer) those miles on CO in the future.

If you are looking for a good program within *A have a look at the *A forum.
