Which has a better fitness center: the Westin Times Square or W The Tuscany? (I understand that W The Tuscany shares its facility with W The Court.)

EnvoyBoy Oct 29, 08, 3:28 pm I can't answer your question as I've not been in the Westin fitness center but I can tell you that the Court/Tuscany has a brand new one with all new equipment. Full range of tv channels available in the rooms (30 or so) at each machine (unlike before where tv's hung up on the wall above machines) plus docking stations for your iPod if you prefer that. Apples, water and towels. It's nice! countmookle Oct 29, 08, 4:11 pm Do you know roughly how many pieces of cardio equipment are in the Tuscany/Court fitness center? And is it open 24 hours? EnvoyBoy Oct 30, 08, 5:09 pm I'm picturing in my mind's eye about 10. When you check into either property you get a special key (it's a room key coded to the fitness center so they look alike--try not to mix them up!) that gives you access so I would guess it's 24/7 unless they cut off the key pad at some point. It's over the kitchen so it wouldn't bother a sleeping guest if you were in there at an odd hour. I usually use it mid-afternoon before dinner (3/4pm) or early morning (5:30am) and have never had any problems getting a machine. As a matter of fact, I'd say 70% of the time I'm alone all or most of my workout. CaptainG Nov 1, 08, 12:59 pm I've worked out at both 3 or four times during stays and much prefer the Westin Times Square fitness centre. When I was at the W -- The Tuscany two months ago, they had put in some new, very modern, workout machines, which replaced the old, useless ones that had been broken for way too loong. Regardless, the Westin Times Square has a much better view (up on a 2x floor) a brighter space, more machines and a much better layout. We stay at the W's for the bar and the fact that my SO has more friends near there. -- CaptainG |
