Asiana Club - Amazing service at OZ F lounge at ICN

I was at the OZ F lounge a few days ago and had a truly amazing experience.

Normally, a member of the lounge staff will escort you to the gate, past the line of business passengers and right into the F cabin. Truly wonderful!

Well, this time I wanted to leave the lounge a little early and poke around some of the duty-free shops. The lounge staff was very disappointed that I would be on my own.

So I meander around the terminal and slowly make my way to the gate - totally unaware that one of the lounge staff is following at a distance.

When I arrive at the gate, she swoops up to me with a big smile and escorts me past the long line of biz pax and onto the plane.

Simply extraordinary!

Between their new lounge and cabins, food and wine, and excellent customer service, Asiana is now one of my favorite airlines.

Seconded. Although I've never flown in F except for one time I flew GMP-PUS in 1A on the A321 as a UM because my uncle got me upgraded...but I think that was C.

Anyways, there's a reason it's a five star airline! :D

Happened to me as well once...

At another time I was (happily) queuing up in the line for C and F when someone from OZ spotted the F boarding pass and took me straight of the line to jump the queue. Eventually I was the only pax in F, the service on that flight was simply out of this world.

Great service indeed. Also I personally wouldn't be sure what to think if I have someone following me around at the airport wherever I go. ;)

Now I'm really miffed that I couldn't get the other flight... with my flight not offering F

4 Dec OZ602 ...arr ICN 1810
4 Dec OZ723 dep ICN 1945 arr 2235
5 Dec NZ39 dep HKG 0815

We're not in ICN long, so I may only be missing out on JW Blue. :(
Does anyone know the timing of the morning flight? Unlikely to arrive with time for an 0815 connection I know.

Boy, I wish I had tried OZ F nowadays. Older F lounge was a bit small. But browsing through the new C lounge in the main concourse and peeking at F lounge, it looks much bigger and nicer. With such service mentioned by OP, it's a very nice lounge with attentive care - like TG F minus the golf cart ride and SPA treatment. But it's not fair to compare TG with OZ. :D

The new lounge in the main concourse offers much better view of the tarmac, in my opinion. Food is decent but nothing to write about. I think old SKL had better food. But I do enjoy the ambiance and the increased space.

Wow, sounds great!

I am in the process of booking a 40th anniversary trip to Australia and NZ for my folks, and wanted to try out OZ on the return to the US. They live in SEA, so I am debating between the ICN-SEA direct in C, or the ICN-LAX in F.

Thoughts?

I would take the LAX flight to get F. I am not fond of OZ C because of their slant flat seat. I don't find it comfortable, and don't sleep well on it.

I am also from SEA and icn-sea vs. icn lax is always my dilemma.
The pros and cons on both routes.

icn-sea on their C is convient but their slanted lie flat is not the most comfortable.
icn-lax, their F is wonderful. But booooooo to LAX airport. Truly one of the worst and inconvient. Once you deplane, the luggage has to be scanned again and carried by you!, from international terminal to domestic terminal and its a mile away.
Once you get to the domestic terminal, the lines to the immigration is 10 miles long and of course, I would be doing a disservice if I dont mention the friendliness of LAX immigration "officers".

Think about the whether the transit at LAX outweighs the difference between C & F in the air for your folks!

Agree. The OZ F lounge at ICN is simply terrific. Super staff and amenities. Like the JW Blue as well. :D They really have the system licked. Too bad we can't get anything close in America.

I still think I like the LHR Virgin Clubhouse more by a bit though. Just more stuff going on to dazzle the senses!

Can you give some examples to dazzle the senses?

OZ F lounge at ICN: Good yes, terrific no if you don't speak Korean. The idea of they actually have hidden cook-to-order food is a big turn off. :td: There is no sign anywhere provide that service. However, if you speak Korean, then you can ask what they are serving "behing the desk", as most of the lounge people speak almost no english.

I like the service in UA IFL HKG, TG F lounge in HKG, NH F NRT much better, they are more keen on serving you. Yes, someone did offer if I want coffee when I entered the lounge, I told her I am going to shower first, but after I got out of the shower, no one came back to serve me even the lounge was virtually empty.

Btw, I also left the lounge a little early, but no one wait for me at the gate like macabus mentioned, by the time I got to the gate they had already started boarding for Y. So I had to squeeze in the line of Y people, wait for another security check inside the jetbridge, lift my heavy carryon bag onto the table. SO how terrific is that ? Mind you the thread was started October of last year.
