Hi all,
im looking for advice really more than anything, I am taking a friend of mine just after the new year to New Zealand for 2 weeks but as she has a Zimbabwean passport with residency to stay and live in the UK i am wondering whether she would need a visa to travel to NZ?
I have tried searching websites and some say she wont as she has leave to remain in the UK, others say she will as she is not one of the countries in the visa waiver program, but then others say as long as she is not staying for over 3 months and not looking to live and wokr in NZ then she wont need a visa.....
please can anyone give me any info?

It would appear yes. (http://glossary.immigration.govt.nz/visafreecountries.htm)
TBH there cannot be too many countries that allow Zimbabweans visa free travel at the moment. Especially with the sanctions the west is trying to impose on Boss Robert and his band of merry men.

Thanks, I'll get the visa form filled in.
I am checking and I cant see any countries that allow Zimbabwean passport holders to enter any country without obtaining a visa which is a shame for them as either they need dual nationality or travel is going to be hassle

how would I find such information? I have read some information and can see Zimbabwe is part of the movement but as of yet cannot see any details in regards to free travel between members of the Non Aligned movement

There is no official free movement program with members of NAM but I would guess that countries who share Mugabe's disdain for the west *may* allow visa free travel. Think Middle East. The only way to check would be look up each country individually unless there is a list compiled somewhere.

UAE is pretty strict. I guess one of the important things to remember is that for most countries visas are tools to prevent economic migrants. It's unlikely that any "rich" country will allow visa free travel to Zims.
Why don't you just apply for the visa to NZ?

I have booked the tickets for NZ allready and am going to apply for the visa but was just wondering where else we can go plus with our tickets as we are flying emirates we can do a stopover in Dubai if we wanted so that is something worth considering as she has never been there before...

Hi 1Trainer1, did you eventually find any countries that could be visited without a visa on a Zimbabwe passport? I am in the same situation right now, thanks ..

didnt find any that would let us enter without a visa, had to apply through embassies which was time consuming and expensive...
best advise is to speak to hotels where you are going as tourism is big business in a lot of places and hotels have got a lot of clout

It's almost the same for South Africans with very few countries allowing them visa free travel. I think the point has more to do with the number of over-stayers (economic migrants) than anything else.
