Can you redeem miles for one-way award tickets??? I just checked the web sites of AA, CO, DL, and UA, and they all show that 25k is required for a ticket, which is round trip. What if you only want to go one-way. Is it possible? tls

Southwest awards are good for one ways, also.
Where are you trying to fly?

I'd like to fly from LAX to BWI or Philly. I only have a significant number of miles on the 4 airlines I checked. Wonder if KL has one way flights between those 2 cities, that I could perhaps use my CO miles on. tls

KL one way awards are only good on NW metal, not CO. 12500 miles one way
LAX-East Coast on NW must be via MSP,DTW or MEM.

Well, this has turned out to be carier specific. Guess that's not a huge surprise. CO's terms do allow it, whereas UA's terms allow it only for their 1k flyers. AA doesn't allow it, altho you can do it via their OneWorld alliance (altho the cheapest way to redeem it is w/ 30k miles) and DL doesn't allow it. CO, here I come ... tls

That's kind of surprising. A one way fare is usually the kind of high yield ticket Gordo wants to sell

How do CO terms allow this? The thread on this in the CO forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum20/HTML/008696.html) doesn't convince me that this is officially allowed. CO claims that <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Rewards are valid for roundtrip or one-way (as specified) travel between two cities...</font> but the rewards I've seen all specify round-trip travel.

Check out the 9th and 10th posting in the thread. #9 says s/he did it, and #10 offers a quote from CO's web site. tls

AC has one ways available. I believe only on flights they or, the subsiduaries operate.
They are slightly more than half of the milage required for a round trip.

I have no doubt that this person did what was claimed, I do have doubts that the rules are specifically designed to allow this, though.

That's interesting re: KLM. Could you please post where you heard this or from the literature where you found this. I had planned on using FD points on CO one-way soon and have been unable to find the answer on their website. Also, given how incompetent the FD staff is, I wanted to be sure of my information before I call them to try to make such a reservation. Thanks!

The going rate on Southwest 1-way coupons is $150, good for an unrestricted seat.

What???
If this is true that would be wonderful, but I cannot find one-way awards on Delta.com and people in the Delta forum say they don't exist. Please explain.

AA definitely allows their awards to be used for round-trip or one-way travel. It's obviously not as good a deal to do a one-way (since the redemption value is the same), but if you try booking an award ticket on their web site you DO have the option to select 1-way.

Someone brought it to my attention that DL is offereing a limitted time one-way award from Atlanta only for travel between Sept 03 til March 04 for 15K. Nothing I can use since I don't live in Atlanta but it is something...

Well, finally a lurker no longer. This subject has made a question resurface that I've always wondered about, but have never asked anyone. I hope it's not too off-topic.
Can you book a trip that is basically 1/2 each of a different type of award. For Example: ORD/SJU but return MSY/ORD
Is this possible with anything other than two one ways on One World?
If this is the wrong place to ask this, sorry. Not only will it be my first post but also my first "oops".
