Travel Tools - Seatguru for hotels?
I am gonna be in Madrid from October 29th till November 17th and will be staying at Hotel Catalonia Les Cortes. Since this is a long stay, I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to get the best room? Thanks ^
Edit: changed subject from "Seatguru for hotels" to the current one as there seems to be no service as such and I would appreciate any insider tips to get the best hotel room :)

Seems to be US only.
Anyone have any tips as to how to request the better if not the best room for the price range? Thanks :)

Tip. Be straightforward. " I will be staying here for a while and would like to have a very good room. What do you suggest?" Look at the room before you accept it. Leave your baggage with the desk clerk and tell him you will send down --or be down to get it as soon as you see that the room is great.

I agree. I regularlly do the same thing.
I also ask for a "quiet" room. Which helps....

Cool, I've always wondered about the feasibility of such a site. Basically Hilton is the only program that will let you pick a room number, otherwise it's request only. We'll see how the tripkick pans out. Thanks!

There was a thread similar to this in the past, but I'm too lazy to search.
Can't see how it would be feasible. An airline has up to 30 or so aircraft variants in the fleet. Seat 10A on one NW A333 is the same as seat 10A on every other NW A333. For NW, 17 seatmaps take care of the entire fleet.
Hilton has over 176,000 rooms worldwide, each unique if you look at size, view, distance from elevator, noise, bed type, .... Even if you could populate a database, no way it could be maintained as rooms are constantly being remodeled and so on.
