I'll have a layover in ASP for about 6 hours. Plan to rent a car, and visit the area. What are the recommended sights and activities to see while there? Thank you.

There's the "Old Telegraph Satation (http://www.nt.gov.au/nreta/parks/find/astelegraphstation.html)" if you are into history.

There's a few more option on this parent page:
Parks - Central Australia Region (http://www.nt.gov.au/nreta/parks/find/centralregion.html)(Note: I would not go more than an hours drive from the Airport (~100km)

In addition, there's also Simpson's Gap (I think that's the name).

In the township (which is about 10 mins drive from the airport), there's the Reptile Centre, the Flying Doctors and the Pioneer Women centre. These 3 are within walking distance of each other. I find the latter 2 quite interesting, especially the Pioneer Women centre, which is based at an old prison.

There's also a transport museum or something, which is quite close to the airport. You'll drive past it from the airport to the township.
