Asiana Club - Asiana Club question

I suspect I'll be making Asiana gold next may (if my math is correct), and I know the "reference" period is October 1-September 30. So if I make Gold (and therefore Star Silver) in May next year, then would my Gold status be valid through:
the end of September 2011 (Starts May 2009+2 years from October 2009)
the end of September 2010 (starts may 2009+2 years from October 2008) OR
the end of september 2012 (starts may 2009+2 years from October 2010)?
I suspect it's the first (and then I have until Sept 2011 to earn 20k miles to requalify) and I'm hoping for it to be the third but I'm not exactly sure.
Thanks!

Okay, apparently it's through the end of september 2012. What I don't get though is the whole "retroactive old policy" thing. Flyasiana.com says if I qualify for gold between October 1 2008 and September 30 2010 then the "more favorable" policy will apply. So if I make Asiana Gold in May 2009 under the old policy it's valid until May 2012, and under the new policy it's valid unitl September 2012. Does that mean the old policy doesn't concern me anymore?
The new rules are confusing. And plus they upped the mileage requirement from ~8,333 per year to 10,000 per year (segment-based requal isn't possible unless Asiana starts flying SFO-JFK. Hey, I'd fly them over United!). Boo. :td:

It really depends. If you qualify under new rule, you will get 2 years of validity but if you qualify under old rule, you will get 3 years of validity. It is just a matter of how close you are to the threshold of new and old rules.

If my math is correct, I have 6,004 miles to go, and 3 transcons to go until the end of the school year in May 2009. So that's 2,600*3=~7,800, and with 33,996 miles now that puts me at ~41,796 miles for about May 25ish '09. So I suspect it's either end of May '12 or end of September '12. I wish they gave me 3 years of Asiana Gold and let me requalify in 3 years....
It says 2 years from Reference Day, which I don't get.

So you have flown 33,996 miles since October 1st this year? Or in total?
If you did not have any status, then 1st October is the reference day for you and you can qualify under the new or old policy.
If you had status before, then you have a difference reference date and you can qualify under the new or old policy, too.
If by May 09 you have flown >40k miles since October 2008 (or since the beginning of times under the old rules) then you will have Gold status until September 2012. From October 2010 to September 2012 is your new re qualification period. So the status you have after September 2012 will depend on the miles flown from October 2010 to September 2012. If you qualify under the old policy then things will be different. All clear? ;)

No, 33,996 miles from when I joined Asiana Club when I was like, 10. So it would be under the old rules. Yes, it's nothing in FT-land, but I had flown quite a few transcons since a couple years ago (College tour, then college) and split my flying between jetBlue, Delta and Virgin America (yeah, call me stupid), but I did collect miles for the Delta flights on my KAL Skypass account. Damn, I could have had another 7,800 miles and qualified for Asiana Gold this summer. Grr. :(
Oh well, at least I'm better off than my mom who did fly quite a bit for work but never collected any miles (gov't work so she flew UA all the time).
Got it. Thanks :D
