Las Vegas - Which CENTRAL STRIP casinos have "non smoking" areas?

Sending a friend from the UK for his first visit. Found a good rate @ the Mirage and think I'll book it -- I like the location. It has very good reviews, but someone mentioned how bad the cigarette smoke was and that reminded me to look for non smoking casinos. So, which casinos (in walking distance of the Mirage) have non-smoking areas? Thanks :)

BTW, the rate is $80/nite = $176 w/taxes (Thurs & Fri) -- pretty good. I would generally go with PL, but thought it would be good to know what location/hotel they are getting since it's their one & only trip ;)

Also, anyone know how much remodeling is CURRENTLY going on @ the Mirage? I saw this note @ hotels.com -This hotel is currently renovating the following area:
# The Mirage Volcano: Scheduled for completion late October 2008. The volcano will not operate during renovation.

This hotel is planning a $110 million redesign of the following:
# Guest elevator foyer: Scheduled for completion mid-September 2008
# Deluxe and Tower Deluxe suites: Scheduled to begin February 2009
Updated accommodations will feature pillowtop mattresses, 42-inch LCD TVs, iPod/MP3-compatible clock radios, new furniture, and whisper-quiet door closures.

During the remodel, the hotel advises that requests for new rooms cannot be guaranteed.

All completion dates are subject to change.

The hotel assures that it will make every effort to minimize construction noise and related disturbance.

This renovation information supersedes all other information in this hotel’s description that relates to these hotel amenities.

The new Palazzo has large sections of their casino, including walkways, designated as nonsmoking. By Las Vegas standards it's "right across the street" from the Mirage, which makes it only a 20 minute walk. ;)

There is no significant construction going on at the Mirage right now other than the volcano, which shouldn't affect you.

Palazzo is the one that jumps out at me - they actually do a real good job at having a totally separate non-smoking area. And only about a 10 minute walk from the Mirage, which is a short walk for Vegas standards. Other casinos don't stand out that much in that regard, although I don't spend a ton of time at that end of the Strip.

ALadyNCal - Now that your friend is back, did he mention which casinos were the best for non-smokers?

I've found that most of the higher end casinos the smoke is almost unnoticeable if there's no one smoking at your table (and then you can just move, which sucks but). Wynn, Bellagio, and Mandalay Bay come to mind. Treasure Island I've had good experiences, too.

To avoid the smoke, definitely avoid downtown. I'd stay away from NY, NY as well.

ALadyNCal - Now that your friend is back, did he mention which casinos were the best for non-smokers?I will have to find out if they made it to any. One reason I was asking is that many reviews said the MIRAGE (where they stayed) was really smoky. Turns out, it wasn't. They said it wasn't a big deal there. So that was good to hear.
