Las Vegas - Vegas Dinner or Monthly Happy Hour anyone?

Greetings all,

I finally became a Las Vegas resident last week (well, technically a North Las Vegas resident, just north of the ghetto area in NLV near the intersection of Craig & El Camino Norte (sp?)) - not the nicest of neighborhoods, but I'm 29 & single, so it works for me for now.

I know I owe SunnyHere a dinner in Las Vegas due his recent generousity to me (so a public thank you, sir!) - but was wondering if anyone wanted to try to put together something in the coming weeks (or next month sometime) and maybe even attempt a monthly or bi-monthly gathering?

I won't be traveling much at all and should be in town regularly. My office is located near the Hughes Center off of Paradise - so I'm pretty much down for anything in near the Strip area or in North Las Vegas if folks are interested.

So basically, I'm just trying to get a feel for a couple of things:

1) Is there any interest in meeting up (on a one-time basis or a regular basis?)

2) What dates/day of week are best for you?

3) What location is best (on-strip, off-strip, NLV, Henderson, Green Valley, etc)?

Once we get all that together, maybe we can create something!

...No problems, for years I worked at MLK & Vegas Dr (Owens) and later occasionally at facilities in your general area . The Craig Rd El Pollo Loco store, north of your home was a favorite lunch spot.

... - but was wondering if anyone wanted to try to put together something in the coming weeks (or next month sometime) and maybe even attempt a monthly or bi-monthly gathering?...I can commit, we've had some great get togethers with locals and visitors alike.

Happy to meet, but until you get a quorum, assessing a schedule seems a challenge! Now if you're planning any MR's on UA and want to show a newbie the ropes...

I've got a LAS-IAD-PHL-IAD-LAX-LIH-LAX-IAD-SFO-LAX-LAS run coming up. It was cheap only because I had vouchers, but it required 2 overnights at IAD (which is fine since my family is there) and 1 overnight in PHL and 3 nights in LIH and 2 nested tickets for 225.00 all-in (using 450 in vouchers that I had to burn by the end of the year though).

I'll be hitting 1k for the first time (which is amusing since I just changed jobs & will no longer be traveling for work - I also did ~60k on NW, but won't be hitting Plat on them this year after 3 years as a NW Plat & a UA PremEx).

For 2009, as long as I can find someone to watch my dog (and I recently got a dogsitter), I'm down for mileage runs (preferably weekends), so let's talk about this and share any good LAS deals we can find. It seems that most of the LAS folks are 1k's - so there may be some good ideas to come from this group! ^

Next weekend is looking good: Friday the 28th or Saturday the 29th...

Land at LAS at 630p. Fly out on the Sunday night/Monday morning redeye at 1250a.
