Las Vegas - no rooms at any casino in harrahs group weekend of 3/6/09
I was trying to book a room at any harrahs "group" casino for the weekend of 3/6/09 and nothing is available in any of their casinos. As a diamond card holder generally one of the casinos is available "free" on any given weekend, and there is a price scale listed for the non-comped rooms--for 3/6 weekend you can't get a room even if you want to pay.:td:
I checked the las vegas convention calender and there is only one small convention that weekend; March madness doesn't begin until around the 19th.
It could be a "glitch" in their system. [Example: back in December of 2006, when I called to reserve the Sterling Brunch (at Ballys), the agent said the brunch was totally booked up for every Sunday that month--when I showed up anyway, it was an error, that date was one of the slowest they've had (people didn't come since it was sold out:rolleyes:). They haven't totally recovered from that error yet, the lines (except for holiday weekends) are not as long (even with reservations) as they were pre Dec 2006--there are lots of empty tables...]

Friday March 6, 2009 to Sunday, March 8, 2009 (2 Nights) comes up COMP for me @ RIO, Paris, Harrah's, Flamingo, and Bally's.
It's probably a glitch, try again or possibly call reservations.
BTW, Diamond doesn't really have very much to do with room prices or comp rooms. It's all based on your theoretical (ADT). Of course, Diamond members tend to have higher theoreticals than Golds and Platinums. ;)
I was originally searching for 3/6 checkin-3/9 checkout, when I changed it to 3/6-3/8 (Friday c/i, Sunday c/o) several casinos showed up with comped rooms; adding a Monday was the problem. As noted in my op, with the 3/6-3/9, I couldn't even book a room in any of harrahs las properties even if I wanted to pay:td:
One of the free options was an IP "LUV TUB SUITE", which I gather from info here on FT is no great shakes.
Correction: 3/8 is a Sunday, my check-out date (was) a Monday.

3/7-8 has availability, 3/8-9 does not, 3/9-10 does. Got to be a glitch. I'd either wait a while, or call.

I vote for glitch.
I would book around the problem date, and then add the date when the availability opens up. Of course, backing it up with a stay (for all the dates) at another [non Harrah's] property. IMO, this is still pretty far out, so I think the wacky harrahs.com booking system will work itself out in the next month (or so).
Though, if you have a decent host [at a preferred Harrah's property], they might be able to just take care of the entire reservation for you.

I've found that once you have a booking, the diamond check-in people can extend your stay--if you ask.:)
Sometimes it is better to book on the internet: about a year ago I was able to get Caesars Centurion Tower rooms on several weekends as a "comp", but the Forum Tower was only available for pay--obviously a glitch, in my favor.:)

If you are diamond or above a host will almost always be able to get you better comps and rooms than booking online.
