We will be travelling from PTT to AKL on Air Tahiti. The flight gets in at 12:40pm. We want to fly directly to either Nelson or Queenstown on Air NZ. will we have to collect our bags and check in again, or can we do it all from PTT? How much time do you think I will need for the connection? There are flights at 2.30 to queenstown and 3.30 to Nelson.

thanks

You will have to collect your bags (you will clear customs, immigration and quarantine at AKL on arrival) if you have more than 1 hr until your Air NZ domestic flight you can re-check them at the Air NZ domestic counter within the International Terminal(turn left after you leave the glass doors after final agricultural quarantine).

The Domestic services to Nelson or Queenstown operate from a Seperate domestic terminal unconnected to the International one, so you will then need to either catch the transfer bus, or if the weather is pleasant take a nice 10 minute walk in the fresh air to the domestic terminal.

IF your PPT-AKL flight is on time you should be able to make both those connections no problem.
