Air New Zealand Air Points - Does Group Fare Ticket Earn Me Miles on UA?

Hi everyone,
Will be traveling to NZ and Australia in December and an option is a group flight that books into "S" class. As I'd like to accrue these miles in my UA account, do I get 100% of the miles as this is a lower fare ticket?
Also, a flight from AKL-SYD is operated by Zeal320Ltd. Not quite sure what that means, but will I receive UA miles for that flight as well?
Too bad *G doesn't get you into Premium Economy 13 hours seems like it's gonna be brutal.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Zeal320 Limited is just a holding company for the A320s which is owned 100% by Air New Zealand. Zeal320 is using the AOC of NZ's LCC they used to have called Freedom Air. Zeal320 services provides full NZ service (Meals,Drinks, IFE (All A320 should have PTVS with AVOD by DEC)).
*Please note: Airpoints members cannot earn Airpoints Dollars in conjunction with Domestic, Tasman and Pacific Island Smart Saver fares booked in L,G,S, K & P booking classes, Airpoints™ reward classes (X,I), travel industry (incl. duty travel) classes (N,R) any fares booked in A class and any grabaseat fare. Members of airline partner frequent flyer programmes are unable to earn points/miles in conjunction with fares booked in any of the classes noted above, regardless of route. Airpoints companion tickets are unable to be purchased in conjunction with fares booked in any of the classes noted above.

S fares on NZ do not earn UA miles.
Flights booked into earning fare buckets on NZ flights operated by Zeal320 Ltd earn miles just like normal NZ flights. Zeal320 is just an operating company for NZ A320 flights.

Premium Economy is a separate cabin class rather than a FF perk like Economy Plus or Space+ on NZ domestic.

Oh wow, thanks for the info. Didn't know NZ was so strict with earning Points! Guess I'll stick to the direct LAX-SYD on UA. I was excited to try out NZ

On long-haul NZ flights, NZ Airpoints members earn points on all fares but *A FFP members earn points on YMBH booking classes (read: most expensive).

Haha, I wouldn't be buying a Y fare transpac ticket!

I think you will find SYD-AKL in Y nicer than any domestic US flight you've been on (probably even better than most US carriers longhaul Y) ;)
Can you get E+ on United for free with your status?

My apologies. I did forget to mention the Global Saver fares that are eligible for *A accrual.

Oh wow, thanks for the info. Didn't know NZ was so strict with earning Points! Guess I'll stick to the direct LAX-SYD on UA. I was excited to try out NZAs you are wanting to earn UA miles its what UA decide to give you, not Air NZ. UA will have an agreement with Air NZ on what fares classes UA will give you UA miles. If UA wanted to give you more UA miles on any Air NZ flight UA could do that.

Unfortunately the redesign of booking engine (ex-NZ) now lumps together the longhaul fares that only earn with NZ Airpoints and those that earn with other partner FFPs.
If you are booking from US website there is still a distinction made (sweet deals earn only on NZ, value fares earn on partner FFPs also).

As you are wanting to earn UA miles its what UA decide to give you, not Air NZ. And what UA decides to give UA MileagePlus FF plan members for travel on NZ flights depends on what Air NZ gives UA.
It's actually more an Air NZ driven decision than UA's, since the decision not to properly compensate other carriers (or in some cases even NZ's own FFP members) for certain NZ booking classes comes from NZ.
UA will have an agreement with Air NZ on what fares classes UA will give you UA miles. If UA wanted to give you more UA miles on any Air NZ flight UA could do that. Yes, UA could do that, but is unlikely to do so unless and until NZ compensates UA (or other partners) for pax using these fares.
Follow the money. In this case the buck stops (or never gets started) with Air NZ.
