Air New Zealand Air Points - Use of Lounge When Connecting to Domestic NZ Flight

My fiancee and I are flying NZ next year on reward tickets from SYD-ZQN. Our outbound includes a roughly 2 hour transit stop in AKL; we are confirmed in business class for the SYD-AKL segment and then go over to the all-coach 733 for our onward flight to Queenstown.

Unfortunately, I will lose my *G status next year, so I'm trying to figure out whether our business class BP from SYD-AKL will allow us use of the Koru Lounge in AKL during our layover there.

Any thoughts appreciated!

strictly according to the rules no, but some have reported being allowed in (perhaps mainly coming off longhaul business class)

of course there may also be fters who could help guest you if paths cross

my thoughts are present at the lounge , say they told you in sydney you could use the lounge in akl and if its not chokka block then depending who is gate marshall in the lounge then they may wave you in , just remmber to keep your BP as proof etc and i think on good day they will let you in.
cheers

It has worked for me in the past (when I didn't have *G), including relatively recently, so you should be fine. Assuming that the trans-Tasman and domestic portions are not on separate tickets, you are essentially on a business class itinerary so it's fair enough that you should be allowed access. Even with completely separate tickets (when the J class sector was just upgraded Y) I've managed it before now, so as long as you ask nicely you should have no problems.

As much as I don't like to disagree with Kiwi Flyer, I agree with mad_atta in this one.

Email NZ saying that you will be doing this and is it within the rules. They should email you back an okay, which may be very handy to print out.
