Air New Zealand Air Points - Koru - Gold - Koru?

I was a Koru member for about 9 months of my year before attaining AP Gold. I've just missed out on requalifying for AP Gold so they have informed me (online) about going back to AP Silver next month. Will I get the rest of my Koru membership back at the same time? Or do I need to ask someone at AirNZ about this?

IIRC you were eligible to apply for a refund on the unused portion of the Koru membership.

Today you should be able to join, paying only the annual sub - as you are already a member.

Your Koru membership would have been put on hold while you had AP Gold Status. It should resume when your AP Silver Status starts.

I hope you get the remaining time.... I had the same question last year and was told to call once I hit Gold and arrange a pro-rata refund of the Koru membership fee.... which I did ...and it was done promptly..

I was also told - as ntddevsys mentions - that if I didn't requalify Gold at any time I could rejoin the Koru Club by just paying the annual fee.. no joining fee required as I had paid it "already"...

thats true regards the annual fee, no joining fee required cos at some stage it was paid , but i didnt know one was entitled to a refund of paid koru fees but i might be pushing it to get mine back after 10.5 years LOL :)

My understanding was that Koru Club fees were repaid on a pro-rata basis if there was less than 90 days into the new membership otherwise it would be suspended.
If revert back to Silver status then it would be reinstated for the remaining term. Also no joining fee would be charged even if you never joined the KC but had it from Gold status, but you had to accept the membership within a certain time frame, mailed out with the Silver pack.

That 90 day limit wasn't mentioned to me... but it may well be correct as I think I had something like 9 months refunded....

(Joined the KC before the trip that was going to get me to Gold - so I could get my dear ol' Mum into the Lounges...:D)

As an aside... my membership pack/card did NOT arrive in time... :td:... BUT one quick phone call to the Koru number resulted in the staff at the SYD lounge knowing who I was - and providing a temporary card..... used it without any problem throughout the trip.. and wasn't hassled about the lack of Guest cards for my mother either... so ^^ :D
