Can anyone tell me whether the Centurion insurance for rental cars covers this scheme?

I do not believe it does, but I'm also not sure that it matters, as the ZipCar program is supposed to include insurance comparable to that which a CC provides. At least I think it does.

There are a few mentions of insurance on their FAQ page that imply what I've stated here...

There's a 500ukp excess on cars in London or a 60ukp pa policy to remove it. As I'll probably use a car there only a couple of times a year, for a couple of hours, that makes it a lot less attractive.

They seem to market the service as an alternative to buying a car for local residents. Am I the only person who is attracted by ease of occasional, very short term use, in places I'll visit?

I have a membership for my occasional needs here in NYC, but were I to need a car on a trip and they had them at the destination I would absolutely consider it as an option. The lack of facilities at airports is somewhat limiting, but I try to take mass transit downtown anyways, so getting one in the city isn't such a big deal.

I've had some great experiences with Zipcar both at home and on the road in metropolitan areas. . .I'm a big fan.

My experiences have been mainly of filthy cars and poor customer support. I dumped my hefty business w/ them in favor of Hertz which has a more flexible hourly offering.
