Are there any *A lounges in LHR open overnight? worldtrav Oct 11, 08, 7:59 pm No. LHR has a night curfew so no flights = no gate access = no lounges. someotherguy Oct 11, 08, 9:02 pm You can reliably Priceline hotels along the Bath Road (both Sheratons, the Marriott, Holiday Inn) for about $60 and use the free local buses (not the slow and expensive Hotel Hoppa) to get there and back. http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/forums/106/t/England-London-Airports.html I don't think the Crowne Plaza (which is coming up a lot lately) is on the bus routes, though. TA Oct 11, 08, 9:29 pm huh, I had no idea you could Priceline hotels in the UK. I wish I had known about that last year, could have saved me about 10 overpriced stays at LHR hotels. That Hotel Hoppa (4 gbp) is definitely one of the biggest ripoffs in Britain. I couldn't believe the first time that I took it, that they would have the gall to charge for a hotel shuttle where the hotels are basically on the airport. That's BAA for you, and the UK govt's wisdom. It is correct, you cannot stay in the gate areas overnight. And unless you like to sleep on the waiting lounge couches/benches (as I did once several years ago, with the armrests handily unscrewed, but that was when swiss army knives were still allowed through security...) you will probably need to spend a bit on a hotel for yourself. Gru1K Oct 11, 08, 11:19 pm Go to Yotel It's inside of LHR at terminal 4 http://www.yotel.com/ Ease to reach and price is good. ninja138 Oct 12, 08, 12:02 am Yotel +1 for an overnighter. ajax Oct 12, 08, 1:32 am That Hotel Hoppa (4 gbp) is definitely one of the biggest ripoffs in Britain. Ahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahaha Oh, dear. You don't live here, do you? I can think of PLENTY of things that are far worse rip-offs than a £4 bus ride. ;) Markie Oct 12, 08, 1:43 am Ahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahaha Oh, dear. Unless you're actually leaving from Terminal 4 it is a much better option to priceline one of the Bath Rd hotels. |
