As always, if you don't have a cat or dog or if you don't like this food, please nevertheless consider requesting the free bag and donating it to your local animal shelter or rescue group - they'll thank you for it!

I'll get the sample and donate it as I've used a product similar to this in the past with disappointing results. It works but simply does nothing for odor control.

I filled out the info but did not get a confirmaiton yet.
My Eddie will eat just about anything.
the odd thing is why won't some shelters accept donated food? Maybe they prefer cash donations to get their own food (since IAMS is expensive compared to other foods.)

Or, they may have a donation program with a food manufacturer, and prefer cash for other supplies.
Cobaka's old shelter will take ANYTHING, so they get all of the food samples, since Wonder Pup has allergies.

Why wouldn't they want food donations?
I was told by someone who works for a shelter that the cats/dogs are fed a particular brand & that introducing other brands for a short time (since we're normally only gettting samples) might throw off their digestive systems since they're used to a particular type.
Cheers.

Thanks, I am picking up a rescue dog tomorrow that I am going to foster for a while. Since it said allow 4 weeks, I hope I can find a good home for him before the dog food gets here! (I would then donate the food)
Somehow I guess he might still be here with me by the time the coupon arrives. ;)

I was told by someone who works for a shelter that the cats/dogs are fed a particular brandThat could be true, depending on the shelter. I donate my items to the Oakland Animal Shelter; what they told me was that they often give away food donations as a "starter kit" for new adopters, so they can go home with some supplies. That's a fine use, as far as I'm concerned.
I suspect some shelters may not want food donations because of fear of contamination... either manufacturer contamination (if someone is donating old melamine-tainted food) or perhaps deliberate (if someone wants to be really cruel). A bit paranoid but I guess understandable.

Let's combine all the pet related items and offers here. It'll make it easier to find like offers.I humbly submit that a single thread for pet offers is actually not a good thing. Pet offers (and all other offers) get much more visibility when the offer is in the OP, not when it is buried in a multi-page thread.
I have no problem with putting pet offers in the Pet forum in general, but I would recommend that they not be in a "consolidated" thread. If there is any way to "deconsolidate" this one, I'd recommend it.

Wow! It can get very confusing trying to figure out when there is a new offer of pet-related items with everything consolidated into one thread. I much prefer to have new items posted as new threads.
I really appreciate everyone who finds an offer and lists the offer for the rest of us to know about. I'm a big fan of donating unwanted/unneeded food and treats. If your local shelter won't take them, check your vet. Our vet offers free care to some animals. I bet your local vet also has clients who are having a hard time affording food/treats for their cats and dogs!

Both dogs are very good and very friendly: they are getting much love from us and returning it. One is a chihauhua (the friendliest one I have ever seen) and the other, mixed chi/pomeranian.
There is a story behind their names. The day we got them, the movie 'Goodfellas' was on cable. I would walk the dogs, and when neighbors and friends would comment, I would tell them 'they are good dogs' or 'they are such good boys'. Then without realizing it, I starting telling friends 'they are such goodfellas'. So I ended up naming them 'Paulie' and 'Jimmy'.
