I am a new subscriber to this great site. So I'm testing the water.
I'd like to spend the last week of this year in Mexico, mainly to experience the culture and practice my elementary level Spanish w/ the locals. I don't know if there is any all-inclusive tour during that week, pls share w/ me if you know any. If not, what city should I go if I don't join a tour but want to stay in safe and decent places.
Can US citizen rent a car and drive across the border from San Diego into Mexico? Is it easy to read road signs and maps and take road trips like that? I hope a woman travel alone in a foreign country like Mexico is ok. Any travel tips or web links or places you care to share or recommend?
