After finding my flights I wanted, I noticed if you put home country as Egypt, the price goes down (price quoted in Egyptian pounds, not USD.)..so I wanted to purchase my tickets on their website....but it wont let you. Any ideas why? I even told Capital One my intention to shop on their site...they didnt see any transactions go thru...

Does it know Im not in egypt and making the purchase?

Moving to the Other Middle East and Africa FF Program Forum, where it appears to be more topical. Good luck in finding your answer.

I had the same problem a week or so ago attempting to purchase a Cairo-Jeddah roundtrip ticket with my VISA. The Egyptair website really doesn't work very well (my Wells Fargo customer service staff said that the request wasn't coming through correctly from Egyptair - they could see it). In the end, I purchased the ticket through their New York ticket office - another hassle because I had to fax a copy of my VISA card and picture ID before they would issue a ticket. I hope the flights themselves are better than the pre-flight experience (I am flying into Cairo on British Airways FIRST, but I don't expect Egyptair first class to compare in any way).

well I figured out what the problem was: my stupid Capital ONE MasterCard does NOT participate in MasterCard's SecureCode Program, in which your mastercard number is put into a "safe list" to be authenticated for us by YOU. So I tried my Saks Fifth Avenue World Elite MasterCard, and it worked just fine...tickets booked online and I didnt have to fax some stranger a copy of my drivers license and a copy of my credit card...I mean, who knows who wouldve picked up that FAX in an office.....in NY of all places!!!!

No Problem:..basically, go to MasterCard.com and go into the SecureCode section....this is a program that protects you from unauthorized charges online as you have to enter a lot of personal data to authorize a charge from a merchant. EgyptAirs website requires this when you use MasterCard....

To find out if YOUR MasterCard will work, go to MasterCards website and enter your CC number.....it will tell you if your card qualifies for the program or not.
