it does seem like a good deal, in my case it's just a question of whether this is a trip we want to take, whether it's a trip we want to take with quark and whether it's a trip we want to take now...i haven't seen a single report from anyone who's ever been to antarctica that didn't rave about it.

Just a word of warning. The first trip out can be a problem. Did the first trip in Nov. 2008. Almost didn't get to land on actual Antarctica. The sea ice was thick and we couldn't get ashore in many areas. Our ship made all our landings but 9 out of ten were on Antarctic islands.
