I'm trying to book my tickets to these two museums for my stay in Florence in late November. I'm using the Uffizi site's ticket purchasing program, but I'm having a heck of a time getting the purchase to go through.

"La sequenza di operazioni sul browser non è risultata corretta.
La preghiamo di riprovare l/'operazione di pagamento."

which roughly translates to (I think): This didn't work, and we'd like to try again.

Clicking the continue button brings up "Transaction Cancelled"

I've tried this multiple times. Any clues to what may be going on, or any suggestions? I"m using a US Visa card.

Here's a link to the "official site (http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/Uffizi/default.aspx)" which will allow you to process you transaction entirely in English.

The Italian sites have notorious fraud issues - so you may find that it is your bank that is declining payment.

I can't vouch for PCs using I/E; but I can say that w/Apple computers, Italian sites seem to be more compatible w/Safari as opposed to Firefox.

Call the museum booking service, speak to an English operator and you will NOT be required to pay in advance: +39 055 294883. Or ask your hotel to make reservations for you.

I second the call to get reservations through your hotel. If your experience is like mine, you will probably have more times available.

Just make it clear to your hotel that you want reservations for entrance into the museum, not to be committed to a tour of the museums. There is a significant cost difference between the two (unless of course you want a guided tour).

I second the recommendation to reserve by calling. I did this, here and also for the Cenacolo (Last Supper) in Milan, and it was completely painless and very fast.

 I found the error of my ways. I was using the official site, and the booking is all in english until you get to the receipt and processing page. Turns out the big button that's highlighted isn't the "continue" button, but the "cancel" button.

I'm all booked, albeit I would guess that a hotel may have been able to get me a better time (in the morning). All of the morning times were zeroed out for the days of my stay. However, I'm one of those people who wants some details taken care of beforehand.

I just booked my tickets by phone for the Uffizi and Accademia. Painless. About 10 minutes on hold followed by about 2 minutes with an English-speaking operator. I got exactly the times that I wanted including a morning time that was not offered on the website. No requirement to pay in advance.

For The Last Supper in Milan, I was also able to book my preferred date and time directly by phone despite no availability appearing on their website. 8 Euros per person. Prepayment required. Phone: 39 02 9280 0360. Press 2 for English. I got disconnected several times but finally completed the transaction successfully with an operator.
