The Caribbean - St. Maarten/ SBH Ferry

Anyone ever do this? Any suggestions?

I've considered taking since it was so cheap, but at the time I had no US passport and was worried what the French would say on return to Marigot.

So instead I paid about 10 times as much and went on a snorkelling trip to Anguilla from Dock Maarten on the Dutch side, with no passport worries.

PS. the terminal is across from all the duty free shops and cafe/restaurants in a very beautiful and european part of the island.
