Simple question for you...

It's been a while since I wandered down to the US by plane. With all this TSA nonsense, is it possible today to pick up liquor at a post-security duty-free shop and take it on the plane with you? Specifically, I'll be flying out of JFK's terminal 4.

Thanks.

Duty-free sold in the U.S. is almost always delivered at the gate as you board. That's because there's nothing preventing you from taking it landside (duty/taxes unpaid). Nothing to do with security.

You will be able to buy duty-free in T4 and take it on the plane. Fortunately the TSA's war on liquids does not prevent such. If you're connecting at your first international destination you'll have to deal with their rules at that time.
